Troubleshooting

Below are some of the most common light signals indicating different status on the SMART BRAKE solution. If you need further assistance, do not hesitate to contact us or use our technical support

Sleep mode

After 60 minutes of inactivity, both the brake unit (s) and the control (s) go into power save mode (standby). In this mode the system stops sending out signals to save battery.

  1. To “wake” the brake unit(s) push the activation button on (both) unit(s) once.
  2. To “wake” the remote(s) trigger the brake after the unit(s) has been activated.

NOTE: If not all controls are awakened after sleep-mode will fail-safe be activated.

A red flash every secondFail-Safe activated = Battery level under 15%Charge now

Blue constant light signalWhile charging, squeeze the lever for five seconds. This activates bootloader mode.Disconnect the charger from the brake lever and wait one minute

Brake Unit

I have charge for 3,5 hours but there is no function or light signalsDirective charger or batteriTry another charger if it does not work – Send to service
I have two Brake Units and only one of them worksLost connection between one Brake UnitOne Brake Unit is dischargedSet the working Brake Unit in synchronization modus, then connect the other Brake Unit.Charge the Brake Unit.
When starting the Brake Units, they go straight into Fail-Safe mode. The remotes are in sleep mode and need to be awaked. Check the light signals from the remotes.Activate alle remotes by doing a brake sequence. Charge or re-connect the remote.
Activation button at the Brake Unit does not work The button might be stuck. When stuck there is no “click” sound when pushing it. Try to push the button from different directions to see if it loosens
Brake Light and USB Light flashes red every ten secondsUnder 25% battery capacityCharge whenever possible.
Brake Light flashes every second and the USB light does not flashFail-Safe activated = Battery level under 15%Turn off the Brake Unit by holding the activation button for 5 seconds. This will open the brakes, but the remotes will not work as the system it turned off. Charge as soon as possible.
Brake Light and USB Light flashes yellow every secondFail-Safe activated because of the Brake Remote has a battery level under 15%Turn off the Brake Unit by holding the activation button for 5 secounds. This will open the brakes, but the remotes will not work as the system it turned off. Charge as soon as possible.
Brake Light and USB Light flashes blue every secondFail-Safe is activated because there is a signal failure between on of the remotes and the Brake Unit.Signal failure signaled by: Brake Lever flashes Blue/Green when squeezing the lever.Thumb Brake flashes blue when l squeezing the lever.Hand Control flashes red when squeezing the button.

Parental control

Signal failure activates the safety brake (fail-safe). When a brake trigger comes out of reach of the brake unit (20-30m), the safety brake is activated. When the signal is restored, the brake cycle ends, and wheels will no longer be locked. It takes two seconds from the control losing the signal until the fail-safe is activated. The safety brake ensures that the attendant always has contact with the brakes in every situation

Charging

Use the RollerSafe charger for both the brake Unit and the brake Lever. Brake trigger and Hand control uses a CR2032 battery. Fully charged is signified by a green light after 3,5 hours.
